We'd like to thank everyone for their immense support over the years. ASE has gone through many changes in the 3 years they performed. Today, Fred and Mickey, the originators of the band, have some amazing musical avenues to pursue. Fred performs in a duet with Tim Rice. They perform early rock classics and many jazz standards. Mickey is focused on his publishing business: MysticWestProducts.com. He also is redefining his goals as a solo guitarist playing ragtime, Americana, early American Primitive Guitar and of course, '70s Rock Classics ... They cover many early rock tunes, jazz standards and also perform some really beautiful originals. We'd like to thank everyone for the last 3 years of support! Our ensemble includes 3 instrumentalists playing everythng from flute to mandolin to acoustic guitar to electric bass and electric guitar within a variety of genres including: Jazz, Classic Rock, Classic Country, Blues, Celtic, Ragtime and New Age. Meet the Ensemble Mickey and Fred have played together for over 5 years, ...mainly for fun and their own amazement. But, when the duo landed a gig at Tinnie Silver Dollar, they were asked to bring in a full-size band. Mickey says, That's when we were fortunate to have found Tim Rice (bass), Ruth Barnum (flute) and Brad Barnum (sits in on occasion on guitar) ... Alto String Ensemble is a strictly instrumental band, with a focus on a variety of styles, including jazz, rock, classical, country, ragtime and blues. They play private parties and special events, such as Ruidoso's Art Walk, and they are always ...pretty much in flux ... perhaps even merging with Acoustic Wheel when gigs arise for (other) full band requirements. |
